Polány is ideally situated between Lake Balaton and Kaposvár. Balaton is of course tourist and offers many opportunities.

Some history: Where Romans built a settlement centuries ago, Polány was created many years ago. In the early 1900’s over 2000 people lived here as well as the wealthy Habsburg bourgousie. After communism, especially many young families moved away from here and the vacant houses were bought at very low prices. Currently 185 people live permanently in Polány. During the summer months, this number doubles. Since 2014, the now renovated castle can be rented for workshops and celebrations. Moreover, Polány has two very beautiful lakes where some exotic species of birds are at home.

Around the House and Breakfast there are many recreational opportunities. Due to the proximity of Lake Balaton, the “Hungarian Sea” (about 20 km away), you can make beautiful boat trips, fishing and surfing, in addition to the classic beach vacation. Lake Deseda is about 15 km away.
